This past weekend I happen to visit a Gems and Jewelry show. It was a community-based event organized by Gems Faire. If you design your own jewelry or sell it or you want to buy a gift this is the place to shop. Ropes were laden with strings of pearls, glass beads and much more. Some booths sold fine jewelry in gold and silver studded with precious and semi precious stones. They also had a jewelry repair service booth. It was easier to look around and shop since the show was on a small scale.
If this is your first time at any Gems and Jewelry show you will be captivated with the array of sparkling beads of crystal, glass, pearl, onyx, garnet and every gemstone ever discovered.
They were in all shapes, sizes and colors and mostly sold by a string that is approximately 12” long. I would suggest you look around and compare the prices at different booths before you buy. For upcoming shows in your area check out their website

On a bigger scale than the Gems Faire show is the International Gems and Jewelry Show that gives you a much larger selection to choose from. If you have been going to these shows for a long time then you know your way around here and can end up with a good deal on your purchase. If this is your first time here you would probably get lost and wouldn’t know what to buy. In any case plan to spend a good number of hours looking around. But the mother of all Gems and Jewelry shows is the Tucson show in Arizona held in February every year. It is organized by the GLDA (Gem and Lapidary Deale Association) where all the gem and jewelry dealers from around the world participate. They also organize the famous Las Vegas Trade show.
